The ACP Legal association is very honored to announce that Sir Dennis BYRON has been appointed President of the Board of the OHADAC Regional Arbitration Centre (the “CARO Centre”), whose services are available since 27 September 2021.
The services offered by the Centre are diverse and flexible.
Placed under the authority of the Ministry of Justice, the activity will involve national OHADA Commissions, OHADA's driving forces, economic and professional actors of the business world, and OHADA Clubs
The Research Centre of the High Regional School of Magistracy (ERSUMA), to perpetuate its publication activities, is launching a call for papers for the forthcoming issues of the “ERSUMA Bulletin of Professional Practice” for the year 2021.
On Thursday 11 February, Sir Dennis Byron, former President of the Caribbean Court of Justice and the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR), was invited to give the 2021 Distinguished Lecture at the Eugene Dupuch Law School, Nassau, Bahamas.
On 11 February 2021 in Bamako, the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, outgoing President handed over the Presidency of the Organization for the Harmonization of Business Law in Africa (OHADA) to the Republic of Mali, incoming President.
The first of its kind in Africa, the Conference will bring together key experts on international commercial law and arbitration from all around the world. The focus will be on international sales law, international arbitration and unification of general contract law. Early career researchers will also be given the opportunity to present their work.
This commitment from the highest level of the State of Belgium offers an invaluable and concretely useful contribution to the promotion of the OHADA uniform business laws in Burundi and Rwanda. The support is particularly fortuitous as it is offered as the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), under the leadership of its newly re-elected President, His Excellency Mr Joseph KABILA, prepares to join the OHADA common system of business laws.
