Message from the Permanent Secretary of OHADA in Tribute to Mrs. Fatou SECK DIALLO
It is with profound sorrow and deep emotion that I learned of the passing of Mrs. Fatou SECK DIALLO in the early hours of Thursday, 21 August 2025. The departure of this devoted ambassador of OHADA to the eternal rest constitutes an immeasurable loss for our Organisation.
A founding member of the Association for the Unification of Law in Africa (UNIDA), which she also had the honour of chairing for six years, Mrs. Fatou SECK DIALLO devoted herself tirelessly to the promotion of OHADA and its legal system, working alongside eminent personalities such as Judge Kéba MBAYE. Her unwavering commitment since the very inception of the Organisation stands as a testimony to her exceptional dedication, inspired by her conviction that uniform African business law is a powerful instrument of integration and development.
With her passing, we mourn not only the loss of an iconic figure, but also that of a strong, compassionate, and steadfast advocate for the advancement of OHADA. May her legacy endure - a legacy that succeeded in uniting energies around a common ideal and making OHADA a living law: a living law within the academic community, a law that inspires and guides practitioners across all professions, and a law that supports business practice and the shared pursuit of development in Africa.
To her bereaved family, to UNIDA, and to all friends of OHADA, I extend my heartfelt condolences.
May the soul of Mrs. Fatou SECK DIALLO rest in eternal peace.
Permanent Secretary
Prof. Mayatta Ndiaye MBAYE
