Today, 1 May 2025, marks the 139th International Labour Day, a highly symbolic day dedicated to the celebration of workers around the world. On this occasion, OHADA extends its warmest congratulations to you and renews its commitment to the consolidation of a strong human capital, combining competence, loyalty, dedication, and responsibility, to support the economic and social development of Africa.
As this year's edition is being celebrated under the theme of social dialogue and decent work, it underlines the importance of labour law in providing a framework for the life of companies. It further calls for the promotion of an inclusive economy and an economy based on solidarity to be strengthened in all sectors of activity. In this regard, the legal instruments designed to develop entrepreneurship, especially among women and young people, in particular the status of entrepreneurs and cooperative law, deserve particular attention.
OHADA takes this opportunity to reaffirm its commitment to working alongside States to ensure the professional and personal development of workers and the construction of a united, sovereign, fair and prosperous Africa.
