International Congress on the Business Climate in Africa: Kinshasa to Host Inaugural Edition in 2026

Under the High Patronage of His Excellency Félix-Antoine TSHISEKEDI TSHILOMBO, President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the city of Kinshasa will host the inaugural International Congress on the Business Climate in Africa (CICAAf) in the third quarter of 2026, under the theme: “Rethinking the Business Climate in Africa for Sustainable and Responsible Investment”.

The Regional Advanced School of Magistracy (ERSUMA) of the Organisation for the Harmonisation of Business Law in Africa (OHADA) is organising an online international conference on 22 and 23 October 2025 on the theme: “Artificial Intelligence and Africa: Cross-disciplinary Perspectives from Lawyers, Political Scientists, Economists and Sociologists”.

OHADA Permanent Secretary Received in Audience by the President of the Republic of Chad

On the margins of the 59th session of the Council of Ministers held in N'Djamena, Professor Mayatta Ndiaye MBAYE, Permanent Secretary of OHADA, was granted an audience on Friday, 12 September 2025, by His Excellency Mahamat Idriss DEBY ITNO, Marshal of Chad, President of the Republic, and current Chair of the Conference of Heads of State and Government of the Organisation's Member States.

Working Visit of the Permanent Secretary to the Congolese Authorities

During his stay, the Permanent Secretary was first received on 31 July 2025 by Mr. Ange Aimé BENINGA, Minister of Justice, Human Rights and the Promotion of Indigenous Peoples of the Republic of Congo. The two dignitaries held in-depth discussions on the functioning of OHADA institutions, the Organization's strategic orientations, the business climate in the Republic of Congo, and the upcoming institutional events scheduled to take place in N'Djamena (Chad).

The Permanent Secretary Received in Audience by the President of the Conference of Heads of State and Government of OHADA

This meeting enabled the Permanent Secretary to discuss issues related to Chad's mandate at the head of OHADA. The improvement of the business climate in Africa, the strategic positioning of OHADA, the institutional deadlines, with a particular attention on the organization of asummit of Heads of State.

Special Meeting OHADA's Committee of Experts: Review of Draft Instruments Relating to the Regulatory Framework for the Functioning of Institutions on the Agenda

This special session is devoted to the examination of four draft instruments: the draft model headquarters agreement for OHADA institutions, the draft regulation on the powers, functioning and organisation of the OHADA Council of Ministers, the draft instrument on the functioning of the Conference of Heads of State and Government, and the draft regulation governing the composition, powers and functioning of the OHADA National Commissions.

Working Lunch between IMD and the OHADA Permanent Secretary

The Permanent Secretary of OHADA, Prof. Mayatta Ndiaye MBAYE, had a working lunch on 17 May 2025 with Prof. Ndeye Coumba Madeleine NDIAYE, Director of the Institute of Legal Professions of the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of the Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar (IMD), accompanied by her team, comprising Professors Ndeye Sophie DIAGNE, Dean of Studies, and Fatoumata Bintou DIA BIAYE, Coordinator of competitive entrance examination preparation sessions, and Mr Adama NDIAYE, Head of the Faculty's IT Department.
