Under the High Patronage of His Excellency Félix-Antoine TSHISEKEDI TSHILOMBO, President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the city of Kinshasa will host the inaugural International Congress on the Business Climate in Africa (CICAAf) in the third quarter of 2026, under the theme: “Rethinking the Business Climate in Africa for Sustainable and Responsible Investment”.
The CICAAf is a biennial platform designed to strengthen cooperation among African States by establishing a permanent framework for intergovernmental and inter-institutional coordination in the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of reforms aimed at sustainably improving the business and investment environment across the continent.
Aligned with the aspirations and strategic priorities of Agenda 2063 of the African Union, the Congress seeks to convene African governments and key public and private stakeholders around a robust, objective mechanism for the continuous assessment and enhancement of the business climate. Its purpose is to support the identification, prioritization, execution, and monitoring of reforms tailored to the specific structures and development trajectories of African economies. Beyond a single event, the CICAAf positions itself as a long-term, action-oriented institutional instrument.
Among the key outcomes expected from this first edition are:
- The establishment of the African Business Climate Observatory (OCAAf); and
- The creation of the African Business Climate Improvement Fund (FACAA).
