In collaboration with UNIDA and its website www.ohada.com which is chaired by Keba Mbaye, the OHADA Club in Cameroon and the AFECAC accounting firm are organising an international Seminar on the theme: "The role of the statutory auditor in company management". This will take place on the 7 and 8 of February, 2007 in Douala. Corporate Governance in the OHADA Law has underlined the role and privilege of an auditor in company management . The financial scandals caused by the famous cases of Enron and WorldCom, raised a lot of questions about the proper control of the external organs of a company. This situation brought in reforms in USA, Great Britain, France and other places : The OHADA zone was not left out. In Cameroon, based on this situations, the AFECAC Seminar is being organised in view of examining the fundamental role of statutory auditors in the management of enterprises. Attention will be given to the support, which some organs and institutions have to give to auditors in the exercise of their duties. These are: - Magistrates, - Court registrars, - Professional Association of Experts Accountants, - Company directors and shareholders. The Seminar is geared in implementing the OHADA law and the target group are accountant experts and non-chartered accountants, barristers, court registrars, notaries, company directors, magistrates, legal consultants.
