African Week of Arbitration, Justice and Commercial Information: Cotonou, Host City of the Inaugural Edition, from 29 September to 3 October 2025

The first edition of the African Week of Arbitration, Justice and Commercial Information (SAAJIC) will take place in Cotonou, Benin, from 29 September to 3 October 2025, under the high patronage of H.E. Mr Patrice TALON, President of the Republic of Benin, Head of State.

As a forum for reflection, consultation, guidance and the promotion of commercial justice, commercial information and alternative dispute resolution in Africa, SAAJIC is intended to bring together, every two years, African States—particularly the Member States of the Organization—together with technical experts from diverse horizons, to engage in dialogue on pressing contemporary issues.

The five-day programme of this inaugural edition will include:

  • A circuit court hearing of the CCJA, to be held at the premises of the Supreme Court of Benin;
  • A consultation workshop of the CCJA with national courts of cassation, national commercial courts and community jurisdictions on matters relating to commercial justice;
  • A two-day workshop on commercial information, under the theme: “Towards concerted governance of the integrated management of RCCM-OHADA files”;
  • A two-day symposium on alternative dispute resolution (ADR), devoted to the theme: “The role of State courts in promoting ADR.”

The workshop on commercial information and the symposium on ADR will be open to the public, in accordance with the modalities available at the following links:

The Permanent Secretary warmly thanks the Beninese authorities for their decisive support in the organization of this inaugural edition of SAAJIC.
