The Regional Advanced School of Magistracy (ERSUMA) of the Organisation for the Harmonisation of Business Law in Africa (OHADA) is pleased to announce the holding of public thesis defences, marking the end of the training programme for the first batch of candidates pursuing the OHADA Specialisation Diplomas. These academic proceedings will take place on 22 and 23 September 2025 at ERSUMA Headquarters in Porto-Novo, with parallel participation available via videoconference.
This solemn academic exercise represents the culmination of several months of intensive training, rigorous legal research, and sustained scholarly endeavour by the candidates. It constitutes a decisive milestone towards the conferment of their diplomas and their recognition as specialised practitioners of OHADA law. The forthcoming defences come on the heels of those organised from 11 to 14 August 2025, which concluded the training cycle for participants in the OHADA Arbitration Certificate (CAO).
The OHADA Specialisation Diplomas, offered by ERSUMA through its Open and Distance Learning (ODL) platform, the Digital Training Space (ENF), are designed to prepare high-level experts capable of meeting the most exacting standards in corporate governance and enforcement procedures. They aim to strengthen corporate governance practices and ensure the legal security of economic transactions within the OHADA area.
Registration for the second batch is now closed, while applications for the third cohort will open in January 2026. For further information on the programme, admission requirements, or modalities of participation, please contact ERSUMA at the following address:
