Chad's Term of Office at the Head of OHADA: Key Activities Presented to the President of the Council of Ministers
Professor Mayatta Ndiaye MBAYE, OHADA Permanent Secretary, was received in audience on Friday 9 May 2025 by H.E. Mr Youssouf TOM, Minister of Justice, Keeper of the Seals in charge of Human Rights of the Republic of Chad, President in office of the OHADA Council of Ministers.
After discussing the state of operation of the institutions, the two personalities reviewed the roadmap for Chad's term of office at the head of the Organisation. Upcoming institutional deadlines and many other important issues in the life of OHADA were also discussed.
In addition to the usual sessions of the Council of Ministers, there will be a meeting of the Conference of Heads of State and Government, a special session of finance ministers on the financing of OHADA, an international symposium on artificial intelligence in Africa in October 2025, and the 1st edition of the African Week of Arbitration, Justice and Commercial Information (SAAJIC) to be held in Cotonou (Benin) in July.
The purpose of SAAJIC is to provide a framework for reflection, consultation, guidance and promotion of Commercial Justice, Commercial Information and Alternative Dispute Resolution in Africa. It will periodically bring together OHADA institutions, African States, mainly those that are members of the Organisation, and technical experts from various backgrounds.
