A la demande du Conseil européen, l'ex-président du Conseil italien Enrico Letta présentera aux vingt-sept chefs d'État et de gouvernement européens, le jeudi 18 avril 2024, son rapport sur la modernisation du marché unique.

Ce rapport, « Much more than a market », place au cœur de ses propositions l'adoption d'un Code européen des affaires, reprenant ainsi le projet initié par l'Association Henri Capitant.

Citons, à titre d'exemple :

“A European Code of Business Law would be a transformative step towards a more unified Single Market, providing businesses with a 28th regime to operate within the Single Market. It would directly address and overcome the current patchwork of national regulations, acting as a key tool to unlock the full potential of free movement within the EU.” (p.10).
