At the initiative of the Cairo OHADA Club, His Excellency, Professor Mouloul Alhousseini, Ambassador of Niger in Egypt, held on April 10, 2005 a well-attended Conference about the OHADA common system of business laws at the Institute for International Business Law - IDAI - University of Cairo. IDAI is a close affiliate of the Consortium of the Universities of Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne, Paris 2 Panthéon Assas and Paris Dauphine and the OHADA Cairo Conference aroused a very stong interest from various business legal circles in Cairo. The OHADA Conference proved very lively and informative and served as an encouragement to all those willing to promote business legal unity, the economic rule of law and investors'confidence in Africa. In the wake of this OHADA Conference, numerous practitioners and students from all nationalities pledged to act seriously in favor of the promotion of the OHADA business law unification process. The OHADA Conference also turned out to be an excellent opportunity for the OHADA Club of Cairo to reassert strongly its purpose of raising awareness in Egypt of the high value and potential in terms of business legal unity and modern economic development of the OHADA common system of business laws.
