Publication of a Special Issue on OHADA law in Petites Affiches
The Law Review known as Petites Affiches devotes its Publication No. 192 of September 25, 2015 on OHADA Law. The publication is titled “The OHADA law, Achievements and Prospects”. This special issue published the proceedings of the first two symposia on the OHADA Jurist Inter-University Diploma (IUD) launched by the Universities of Paris 2 and Paris 13.
Contributions to the first symposium, held on June 22, 2015 in Paris (France), gave the opportunity to do a first assessment of the implementation of two revised Uniform Acts, namely: the Uniform Act of December 15, 2010 on Securities Law and that of January 30, 2014 relating to commercial companies and economic interest groups.
Regarding the second symposium held on June 25, 2015 at the University of Dschang (Cameroon), it focused on the harmonization of contract law in Africa. It enabled to review some special operations provided in the various Uniform Acts, to discuss the stakes of harmonizing contract law in OHADA Member States and, especially, to sketch, by an inductive approach, a community law of contracts on the basis of existing Uniform Acts.
The full text of these communications delivered by leading academics and practitioners was published by Petites Affiches, together with the best dissertation of the OHADA Jurist IUD on “Access to the Common Court of Justice and Arbitration of OHADA in contentious matters”. This Special Issue is heavily loaded both intellectually and materially and is therefore recommended to all persons interested not only in the OHADA law, but also in business law as a whole.
