Deployment of the Computerized RCCM: After Mali, Burkina Faso Receives the Software Solution and Computer Equipments

Ouagadougou - Burkina Faso, 21 - 22 September 2017.

Following the Mali phase, the Permanent Secretary of OHADA, Prof. Dorothé C. SOSSA, on Friday, September 22, 2017, at the Ministry of Justice of Burkina Faso, officially handed over the software solution for the integrated management of local registers and national files of the Trade and Securities Register (RCCM) to His Excellency Bessolé René BAGORO, Minister of Justice, Human Rights and Civic Promotion of Faso. The Minister of Justice thanked the Permanent Secretary for this remarkable step forward, which will provide reliable information and will contribute to the attractiveness of investment and the development of business law in Burkina Faso.

Prior to the official handover ceremony, Mr Issa S. FAYAMA, Director of Cabinet, representing the Minister of Justice, who was unable to attend, presided the handover ceremony of computer equipment to the Commercial Court of Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) on 21 September 2017 in the presence of the Permanent Secretary of OHADA.

After the welcome address by Mr. Mwinzié Eric DA, Permanent Secretary of the OHADA National Commission of Burkina Faso, the Permanent Secretary of OHADA briefly recalled the genesis of the computerized RCCM project and presented the software solution. On the same occasion, he officially handed over a batch of computer tools for the equipment of four RCCM and the national RCCM Index file.

In his speech, the Director of Cabinet thanked the Permanent Secretary of OHADA, on behalf of the Keeper of the Seals, for his personal commitment to the technical and financial partners of the Organization, which allowed to secure their support for the operationalization of the computerized RCCM. He declared that the computer equipment supplied will speed up the process of effective deployment of the software solution for integrated management of local registers and the national index file in Burkina Faso. He added that RCCM is an economic and financial information tool accessible to business actors in Africa and beyond.

Operations for the handover of computer equipment, deployment of the computerized RCCM-OHADA and training will continue in the coming days, notably in Guinea Bissau, Central African Republic, Congo and Equatorial Guinea. They will mark further progress in the transparency and growth of business within OHADA member States.

The Permanent Secretary thanked the authorities of Burkina Faso for the arrangements made to ensure the effective deployment of the software solution. He also reiterated his gratitude to the World Bank Group for funding the development of the software and for procuring the equipment.
